Dorms

On-campus dorm-style accommodation will be available at Rauner Residence Hall (follow Rauner links to see floor plans). These are modern 2-room suites, each room containing one bed. We expect a majority of participants to choose these, since they are very convenient, and their cost is covered by the conference. Most likely each participant will be able to have a suite to themselves (there is a small chance some will need to share, in which case please be aware that to reach one of the bedrooms you have to pass through the other.) Bathrooms and showers are in the corridor and are shared with other guests. However, each bathroom or shower has it's own entrance from the corridor, thus affording privacy.

The check-in times for the residence hall will be announced closer to the date. If you will be arriving after hours, please contact to make arrangments to pick up your key.

Your dorm stay will include a basic amount of $6/day to cover breakfast on the Dartmouth meal plan (you can easily add more to cover lunch too). Wireless internet service will be available at the residence hall, and throughout campus. Dorms are a 2 minute walk from Kemeny Hall, where the conference is held.

Further information to be announced.

Hotels

Here is a list of most local hotels. Of those the Hanover Inn is directly by campus, and the Norwich Inn is 1.5 miles from campus. Most others require bus, car, or bike to get to campus. You are responsible for making your own reservations if you wish to stay in a hotel, except in the case of the Hanover Inn as explained below.

We are holding a small number of rooms at the Hanover Inn at a guaranteed rate of no more than $159. Please contact to get on the waitlist if interested. (You cannot get this rate by calling the Inn directly.)

We have blocked out a special rate on studios and two-bedroom suites at the Marriott Residence Inn in Lebanon (Centerra Business Park), about 3 miles from campus. You may make your reservation via these links: studio suite; 1-bedroom suite; 2-bedroom suite. Or, you may call to make your reservation; please say that you are with the ``geometry conference''. The hotel offers a free shuttle, although it can transport only five people at a time. Alternatively, the Blue Route of Advance Transit (a free bus) goes close to the hotel (the DHMC bus stop) and drops you in Hanover (Bookstore bus stop) 15 mins later, which is then 5 mins walk to Kemeny Hall. Morning departure times at DHMC include 7:27am, 8:00am, 8:30am, 9:00am, 9:15am and 9:30am; however, the latest return bus leaves Hanover at 6:19pm. There also are a small number of taxi-cabs in the area - they take often 20 minutes to come, and will charge around $10 for a few-mile trip. (If you stay at this hotel or the similarly located Marriott Courtyard, you will have free access to the River Valley Club, a large fitness center.)

We are also holding a few rooms at the Norwich Inn. Please say that you are with the ``geometry conference'' when you make your reservation.

Bike rental: Dartmouth Outing Club rents bikes for the week. The 3-mile ride up to Centerra Business Park involves a hill (300 ft total climb) and is a main road, i.e. not a very nice ride unless you're an experienced cyclist. The 1.6-mile ride to the Norwich Inn is more pleasant, although it does involve a smaller hill (130 ft climb) each way. For biking enthusiasts, the ten-mile ride to Dowds' Country Inn in Lyme is quite lovely (it follows the Connecticut River.)
