  Mathematics 8            Spring  2004

 
Text:  Calculus, fifth edition by James Stewart.   (Available at Wheelock Books)

Classes:  11:15-12:20 MWF, Bradley 105 (X-hour: Tu 12:00-12:50)

Tutorials:  Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7:00-9:00 in Bradley 103.

Office hours:  in 312 Bradley
Tuesday 12:00 - 2:00
Thursday 1:00 - 3:00  

Homework:  There will be Webwork assignments for each class which will usually be due by the start of the next class.  You can check the exact due dates after logging in to webwork.  Late homework is usually not accepted.

If you preregistered for the course, you should have a webwork account by the first day of classes.  If you do not have an account by then, tell your instructor so that one can be created.  Your initial password is your student ID number.  Change it soon.

Exams:
      Monday,  April 26, Bradley 101, 6:00-8:00pm
      Wednesday,  May 19, Bradley 101, 6:00-8:00pm.  
    Final exam: to be scheduled by the registrar

    You are not allowed to use calculators on any of the exams.

  The final will cover the entire course, but will emphasize material covered since the second exam.
  No early final exams will be given.

Grading:  Final letter grades will be determined as follows:  Two Exams, 100 points each;
   Final exam, 150 points;  Webwork assignments, 50 points.

Honor  Code:
      Homework:  You may work together on assignments.  However, you should work through each problem on your own to get the answer that you enter into the computer. It is a violation of the honor code for someone else to provide you with his or her answers, even if you worked with that person.
      Exams:  All exams are closed book.  Giving or receiving any help during an exam is a violation of the honor code.
 

Disabilities:
    Any student with a documented disability needing academic adjustments or accommodations should talk
to your instructor by the end of the second week of the term.  All discussions will remain confidential, although the Student
