The Honor Principle |
---|
On Exams and Quizzes: No help given or
received. All exams and quizzes will be closed book. No
calculators or computers are allowed.
On Homework:
Working together is permitted and encouraged, but NO
COPYING. You are welcome to work in
groups to discuss the ideas and specific problems (also feel free to
discuss with your instructors, tutors, and anyone else you may find).
However, each student is expected to produce the final written
homework set individually and independently. This means you
cannot simply copy down the solution arrived at by the group, even if
you were a member of the group. Computing devices are allowed
on homework.
On Group Work: Working together is required, though everyone must write their answers in their own words (no copying).
Please ask any questions you have about the honor principle and how it applies to this course.
Group Work |
---|
Group work will be assigned in each x-hour in the form of handouts. These handouts will be collected at the end of the hour. To receive full credit on the group work, all members of the group must work on the assignment together. This is judged by how far the individuals get in the worksheet. Each individual should show all work on their individual worksheet. You do not need to complete the worksheet to receive full credit. Since the two sections will be using the same group work, solutions will be available after the x-hour for section 1, or at 1:00 on Thursday.

Disabilities |
---|
Students with disabilities will be accommodated. If you have a disability, please notify your instructor as soon as possible so we can make these accommodations. Disabilities should be documented through the Academic Skills Center. If you suspect you have an undocumented disability, please talk to the people at the Academic Skills Center immediately. See http://www.dartmouth.edu/~acskills/ for more information. Edit: The disability office is no longer the Academic Skills Center. It is Student Accessibility Services. They do not seem to have a separate website.
Even if you do not have a disability, the Academic Skills Center is an excellent place to visit. Take some time to look at their videos and other resources. Would you benefit from some of the planning tools? Do you think you could improve your note-taking skills? Is stress eating your life? You're the only one who knows what might benefit you, and it doesn't hurt to look.
Quizzes |
---|
Quizzes will be held daily, in clear reference to the homework material. Calculators and notes are not permitted on quizzes.
See quizzes and exams for more details.

There will be two midterm exams and one final. Midterms will be held on Monday evenings, 7:00-9:00 PM. Calculators and notes are not permitted on exams. The final will be held during the finals period. We will announce the location as soon as it is available.
